Counting down to the Heat Pump Forum 2025

Published on: September 12, 2025

From debunking disinformation to transforming district heating, from business-building networking to an evening of live jazz – the Heat Pump Forum 2025 promises two days of ideas, debate, and inspiration.

On 23-24 September, Brussels will host this flagship event of the European Heat Pump Association, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and researchers. The Forum takes place at the recently opened MIX Brussels, an iconic building surrounded by greenery and designed to host sustainable events.

The Forum this year will tackle pressing questions: How can Europe ensure its future energy security while reducing reliance on fossil fuels? What role can heat pumps play in strengthening industrial competitiveness, integrating with grids and district heating, and keeping energy affordable for households and businesses? How can misinformation about clean heating be addressed?

Across eight sessions, participants will hear perspectives from the EU, industry, finance, and research communities. Keynote speeches will set the tone – including Rosalinde van der Vlies, Director for Just Transition, Consumers, Energy Efficiency and Innovation at the European Commission – alongside senior industry leaders such as Enrique Vilamitjana of Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions and Barbara Priesching of Vaillant, and influential policymakers including Members of the European Parliament Peter Liese, Andrea Wechsler, Anna Stürgkh, and Niels Fuglsang.

A programme packed with insight

For two days, the Forum will serve as a space combining insightful discussion with opportunities to connect and collaborate. The Networking Corner opens the event, offering registered attendees the chance to have one-on-one meetings with EU officials, industry figures, and fellow participants – an early start on building meaningful connections.

Participating is simple: when registering for the Forum, you can choose to sign up for the Networking Corner. You can find more information here to make the process quick and easy.

On the first day, the spotlight will be on energy security, the clean industrial deal, and the decarbonisation of heavy industry. Participants will also hear TED-style presentations, engage with partner showcases, and celebrate the most inspiring projects at the Heat Pump Awards. The day will conclude with drinks and dinner, providing space for informal discussion and reflection.

Day two shifts focus to addressing disinformation, making energy affordable, training the next generation of installers, integrating heat pumps with the grid, and transforming district heating networks. Walking networking lunches, coffee breaks, and interactive presentations ensure that attendees can continue conversations sparked during the sessions.

Beyond the sessions

While the sessions form the core of the Forum, there’s much more to experience.

Meals and networking breaks are designed to encourage spontaneous connections, and the Networking Dinner will feature live music from the Everest Quintet which will provide a vibrant soundtrack as you chat and connect.

And of course, sustainability is the drumbeat to all we do. The Forum is a green event, with measures to minimise waste and emissions. For the third year in a row, we’re proud to partner with GoodPlanet Belgium, whose projects with schools and businesses bring sustainability to life on the ground. As part of this collaboration, our speakers will receive eco-conscious gifts that support GoodPlanet’s mission. Discover more about their work here.
